What the region claims

Scores from 100 to 114 sit between the average and one standard deviation above it, roughly the 50th to the 82nd queue position in a hundred on a well-normed test. Above the middle, short of the top band. Most readers here have a result that is mildly, pleasantly above the sample average, and the operative word is mildly.

The over-reading temptation

This is the region where a seven-point lead gets narrated into an identity. A 108 against a friend’s 101 is a difference smaller than the margin either number carries, which makes it no difference at all, yet it is exactly the kind of gap that gets remembered and retold. The same applies within your own profile: a facet at 71 and a facet at 66 are level until the gap clears the margin, and honest reporting says so rather than declaring a strength.

What a repeatable upper-middle result does support is quieter: across this test’s statements you describe yourself somewhat above its sample’s typical answers, with room on every facet. Profiles here are usually uneven, and the unevenness is the useful part.

What it cannot support

Predictions about outcomes. The correlations between EQ scores and life results are averages over populations, and they are modest. A 110 does not schedule a promotion. It records a self-description, and self-descriptions are one witness among several.
