What an EQ certificate can say
A certificate is a record, not a credential, and the difference is worth knowing before you frame one.
What a certificate can honestly record
That a sitting of a specific instrument was completed on a specific date, in the name the holder gave, and how the result was classified. All of that is checkable against the issuing site’s records, and a well-made certificate makes the checking easy: ours carries a verification code and a QR that resolve on this site, so anyone holding the paper can confirm it is real and unaltered.
What no consumer certificate can do
Credential emotional ability. An unsupervised online sitting cannot verify who answered or how carefully, which is a property of the format, and no consumer questionnaire measures precisely enough to certify that one person stands above another. That is why our certificate states the classification band and not a number: a band inside a stated margin is a claim the measurement can keep, and a decimal on a certificate is a costume.
A certificate that does claim to credential ability is claiming a precision no unsupervised questionnaire has.
