Online EQ tests, unsupervised
Nobody watched you sit it. That single fact sets the honest limits of every consumer test, including this one.
What unsupervised limits
An unsupervised sitting cannot verify identity, effort or conditions: who answered, whether they rushed, whether they answered as themselves or as the person a form seemed to want. This is why no consumer certificate can credential ability, and why a consumer score must never decide hiring, placement or care. The limits are properties of the format, and they apply to every test delivered this way, however good the instrument.
What it does not limit
Self-insight. The person best positioned to benefit from an honest sitting is the person sitting it, and they have little reason to deceive themselves on purpose. Unsupervised delivery is a poor courtroom and a perfectly good mirror, and a report built for the sitter rather than for a gatekeeper loses almost nothing to the format.
Designing for it
A test built for unsupervised sitting builds its checks in. Ours runs 2 attention checks and a same-answer detector, and a sitting that trips them is routed to a free retake rather than scored and sold: a report we cannot stand behind is not a report, it is an invoice. The remaining honest gap, that self-report is how you see yourself, is handled by scoring a separate situational track and never fusing the two.
